Genocide Research Spring 2008
Getting Started:
- Select high quality resources. Evaluate all for authority, accuracy, audience/agenda, and currency.
- When using the databases or catalogs try to determine the subject headings assigned to the genocide (such as 'human rights violations', 'crimes against humanity', atrocities). Try the term genocide as a subject heading and look for subtopics or subdivisions for your particular example.
Books:
- Write down call number and title to locate book on shelves. One book per person, can be checked out for 2 days.
Databases:
(login using the username and password on the back of your ID card unless otherwise noted)
- CQ Researcher - Search by keyword genocide and area or people. Pay attention to the dates of the article. Use the 'Find Keyword' across the top of the article to locate specific information in these lengthy reports.
- United Streaming - Videos, images, clipart, sound effects for presentations.Username: phs.lrc Password: phs.lrc
Internet Resources:
- netTrekker is an educational search engine that has many evaluated internet sites. You login with the username and password on the back of your ID card.
