Books:
Search the library catalog using one or two keywords, e.g. English Renaissance, Art Renaissance, Elizabethan, etc.
We have pulled a Resource List of books together for this project. Many of them are on a cart in the library during your visit. You can get to the complete list of books by clicking on the link.
Encyclopedias:
- World Book Online: Authoritative background information. Includes pictures, graphs, timelines and other primary sources. Citation information at end of each article. Login and password on the back of your ID card. Sample Shakespeare result below:

Databases:
- Our history databases are published by Proquest. History Study Center will be the database covering your period in history. Login using the username and password on the back of your ID card. Remember to click on the orange bar 'My Products Page' to access our databases.

- Gale databases allows you to do a PowerSearch across 5 databases at once. Narrow down your results by looking at the Subject headings or doing an Advanced Search with boolean logic. Login using the username and password on the back of your ID card. One of the databases that you can PowerSearch is the Gale Virtual Reference Library. This contains a group of eBooks that can be searched or browsed through. One book, Arts & Humanities Through the Ages is great for this assignment. See below for the Table of Contents for this book.

The Biography Resource Center, which you cannot PowerSearch but is a great resource for people. See Queen Elizabeth I example below:

- Internet Shakespeare Editions Published by the University of Victoria and the Canadian government. Many graphics, charts, maps. Thorough Life and Times section.
- Life in Elizabethan England Primarily a social history ncludes information about games, food, money, religion, fashion, education, and more. This eBook is now in print.
- Life and Times of Queen Elizabeth I "This detailed and thorough site contains information about her early life, major events of her reign, even her wardrobe. Topics include life in Elizabethan England, the status of women, the church, and the structure of the government" (lii.org).
