Genocide Research                              Spring 2009

Getting Started:

  • Select high quality resources. Evaluate all for authority, accuracy, audience/agenda, and currency.
  • When using the databases or catalogs try to determine the subject headings assigned to the holocaust (such as 'World War, 1939 - 1945', 'Holocaust survivors', 'Jewish resistance').  Try the term Holocaust as a subject heading and look for subtopics or subdivisions for your particular example.

Books:

  • Look for books in Destiny (Library Catalog). A keyword search on 'Holocaust' will result in over 200 books. You may want to try specific topics such as the names of camps, Nazi leaders, Kindertransport, etc.  Or try a power search and combine United States AND Holocaust. Please share, only one book per student.
  • Write down call number and title to locate book on shelves. Check availability before walking to the shelves.
